let's blog for digs
my first-ever blogger fundraiser event (with Beth Dotolo of Hello Splendor) since founding StonehouseLove. Blog for Digs will benefit Dwell with Dignity, a non-profit group of interior designers and volunteers dedicated to creating inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty. Once Beth told me about DWD's inspiring mission, my fundraiser idea instantly crystalized before me. What could be better than decor and lifestyle bloggers having an opportunity to give back by joining DWD? Not much...so take a little of Beth Dotolo, Lisa Robison (DWD's founder) & me, a little collaboration and Blog for Digs is now a reality, yay!
This event is dear to my heart since my mom was a single mother of 4 girls who all loved beautiful interiors on a tight budget. I give thanks everyday for my beautiful home and through my decorating career, I help others create homes that reflect their lifestyle. Now we can do the same for families who otherwise would not enjoy all of life's little luxuries so sweet like a fave fluffy duvet, a pretty painted bedroom, a comfy chair, inspiring artwork, kitchen supplies & a pantry filled with foodstuffs...just thinking about helping to provide these things for a family in need makes me so very happy!
Inspired by sfgirlbybay's pin it forward (thanks Victoria for agreeing without hesitation to help us spread the word) we bring you Blog for Digs: "My childhood bedroom was..." Participating bloggers will blog about their childhood bedrooms and the one decor item they wished they had and then link to the next blogger on the schedule. Then (if you are able) we ask that you join DWD by making a donation (memberships start at $2.50 per day) and dedicate it to Blog for Digs. That's it!
